Johannesburg - The 19-year-old son of a Steelpoort farmer was shot and wounded in an attack on Thursday night, Mpumalanga police said.
Captain Leonard Hlathi said in a statement released on Friday that 55-year-old Leon Gouws, his wife and his son Jaque arrived home on their farm Olifants Poortjie, around 18:00 on Thursday.
As they were unloading goods from their vehicle, two unidentified men approached then and started shooting.
Jaque was hit in the neck, hand and groin.
The attackers then fled without taking anything.
Jaque was taken to Polokwane Private hospital for treatment.
Hlathi appealed to anyone with information about the attack and attackers to contact their nearest police station.
He also warned people not to confront the attackers as they were armed and dangerous.
