Uncut diamonds: Man in court

Springbok - A 37-year-old man from Port Nolloth on the West Coast appeared briefly in the Springbok magistrate's court on Monday on a charge of possessing uncut diamonds.
Police spokesperson Inspector Chantel Manuel said Antonio dos Santos, 37, was arrested in Port Nolloth on Saturday after being caught in possession of 153 uncut diamonds worth about R1m.
Police also seized diamond-cutting equipment, as well as R55 000 cash.
Dos Santos was released on bail of R200 000. He will appear in court again on April 15.
