Woman on R1.5m fraud charge

Umtata - A suspect in an alleged R1.5m fraud scheme involving school books has appeared in Umtata magistrate's court, says SABC news.
Ncediwe Mdaka of Bokleni at Engcobo is alleged to have claimed the money from the provincial education department after insisting she had delivered books to local schools.
She was arrested last week by members of the anti-corruption task team.
She has been granted bail of R10 000 and the case was postponed to March 18.
