Cape Town - The city of Cape Town has called on members of the public to help in the hunt for its top 10 traffic offenders. The worst offender has 86 arrest warrants against him.
It said in a media statement on Tuesday that more than 717 warrants for the arrests of the offenders had been issued.
"These vehicles are all registered as Toyota minibuses, but the addresses are incorrect," said Ian Iversen, chairperson of the city's finance portfolio.
Because the addresses were incorrect the culprits could not be traced, said Iversen.
Iversen said: "Traffic Services are ready to pounce on them, but need more information.
"We call on residents to provide any information which could assist traffic services in rounding up these offenders to the metro police control centre on 0860 765 423.
"These culprits may think they are getting away with their transgressions for now, but the city will not relent in its endeavours to catch them."
"The top culprit, CA 488281, has 86 warrants followed by CA 361 318 with 83 warrants," the statement said.
