Kwa Maritane fire put out

Pilanesberg - Firefighters managed to extinguish a fire that destroyed the Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge in Pilanesberg on Monday, North West police said.

Captain Adele Myburgh said the fire was put out at around 10:00, but the building had been severely burnt.

"The fire was difficult to put out because the roof of the building was made out of grass," said Myburgh.

All the guests were evacuated to a nearby lodge, one was injured and the damage to the building is estimated around millions.
