Johannesburg - One of 13 people arrested on October 6 in connection with possession of 3.8kg of unprocessed gold was released on R50 000 bail by the Johannesburg magistrate's court on Wednesday, said police.
Superintendent Chris Wilken said Solomon Sethole, 54, of Berea in Johannesburg was granted bail and was ordered to re-appear on October 28 to face charges of illegal possession of unwrought gold.
The 20 pieces of gold worth about R300 000 were found in a bag hidden in a cupboard of a Hillbrow flat.
Another accused Pieter Sebeya, 24, of Khuma in Stilfontein was due to appear in court on Thursday, Wilken said.
Eleven of the 13 arrested were released due to a lack of evidence.
