Johannesburg - Transport minister Dullah Omar is to meet with various stakeholders in the transport industry on Monday to discuss road traffic management and measures to address road accidents.
Department spokesperson Ndivhuwo Mabaya said the meeting at Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg would discuss the "Arrive Alive" plan for 2003 and 2004 and "Operation Juggernaut".
"Operation Juggernaut" is an intensified law enforcement operation being implemented by provinces and local authorities with the support of the Department of Transport to deal with unroadworthy trucks, buses and taxis.
"Another critical issue under discussion would be the use of technology to assist law-enforcement and management of traffic," Mabaya said.
He said the main focus of the meeting was to ensure that road accidents were decreased.
