Johannesburg - A man was arrested at his house in Glenvista, south of Johannesburg, after police found chemicals to produce the drug known as "tik-tik" (crystal methamphetamine) to the value of R5m.
Senior Superintendent Mary Martins-Engelbrecht said on Saturday the 39-year-old man was arrested during the bust of the drug manufacturing laboratory late on Friday night.
"We believe this is a breakthrough with regards to manufacturing the drug in province."
The suspect is expected to appear in the Johannesburg magistrate's court on Monday on charges of manufacturing and possession of drugs.
Police are continuing their investigations.
