Cops hold two for fowl deed

Johannesburg - Two men were arrested in Sharpeville, near Vereeniging, on Monday after they were caught offloading chickens from a shipping container in the township, police said.
Captain Shado Mashobane said the men were arrested about 12:30 on Monday after a tip-off from the public.
The chickens were on a truck travelling to Bethlehem from Kroonstad in the Free State.
A preliminary investigation indicated the truck was hijacked on the N1 highway about 07:45 on Monday, and driven to the township, he said.
Mashobane said the two men are expected to appear in Vereeniging magistrate's court on Tuesday.
