Waterkloof 5 caught 'slumming'

Pretoria - Hoërskool Waterkloof in Pretoria has launched an inquiry into allegations that a group of pupils left their hostel on Friday night and partied the night away at a Hatfield nightclub.
According to reports, a group of five grade nine girls sneaked out of their hostel. They allegedly smoked and drank at the club.
Lanie van Kradenburg, the school's media spokesperson, said the incident was being investigated.
She said all transgressions by pupils were investigated. Depending on the severity of the transgression, parents were told.
A pupil's record was also taken into consideration and a positive approach was usually the school's policy.
"Our first choice is education, not punishment.
The impact a culprit has on the rest of the school is controlled, but repeated transgressions will result in a child being asked to leave the school," she said.
