Johannesburg - A man miraculously survived being shot in the forehead during a burglary in Swartkops, Muldersdrift, on Tuesday morning, said West Rand police.
Just after midnight a gang of six robbers struck at Christina Mbambezi's home, said Sergeant Katlego Mogale.
"Enock Sigudu, 34, was asleep when he was awoken by Mbambezi's screams for help," said Mogale.
"He went to investigate, but on his way was confronted by an armed suspect."
Sigudu tried to run away, but was chased by the robber to a nearby field.
"The alleged robber fired a shot, hitting Sigudu in the forehead," he said.
The gang then took Sigudu back to his house while they cleaned out his and Mbambezi's homes, taking cellphones, clothes and ID documents.
Mogale said Sigudu was taken to Wilgeheuwel Hospital.
The West Rand burglary task team were investigating the case.
