Here are a selection of responses from News24 Users on the Jacob Zuma verdict.

If Jacob Zuma may not be prosecuted and is innocent as he states, why is Schabir Shaik in jail? Then Schabir must be set free immediately and be paid appropriate damages.- Henry

Having just read the results from the Zuma judgement I am hoping for some clarification. 1) Does this mean they cannot prosecute him on these counts again? 2) Does it prove his innocence, or only that administration was not followed properly 3) Does this spell the end in the whole saga? - MJ

Re: the Zuma judgement. Well, well, Zapiro was right all along, but instead of Lady Justice being gang raped, it appears she's just a whore anyway. What message does this send to the world, to the politicians already practising gangster politics, and to the population at large? All anyone has to do now is just "work the system". Zimbabwe here we come. - Barry

All we thank for now is that Jacob Zuma's case has been dismissed, for the sake of the man and for the country. JZ really deserves a break. I myself support him & will always. Thanks God he won the case. Let the man concentrate on political issues not on court issues. We hope to have him as our next SA President. - Sibusisu

Please help me congratulate Mr. Jacob Zuma, the ANC and the entire supporters of JZ. Judge Chris Nicholson's verdict should be given to President Mbeki to read at his spare time. I think is time the NPA should let Zuma live a free life like every other citizen of South African. The verdict was expected. Bravo. - Clifford

This country is already divided into two parts; there are people who are Mr President of SA supporters and JZ supporters. Those who support him will always do. Most say they will do everything for him which means they support him and wanted the charges to be dropped. Those who not support him will divide themselves over JZ innocence. Innocent or not, I support him. We all make mistakes that sometimes come back to us. Let us leave Msholozi to have peace. We love you JZ. - Sibisusu

It is comforting to see that SA still has honourable judges. Zuma has been vindicated. The persecutors must now back off. But given the arrogance they have displayed in the past and some of the bizarre decisions they've made, I would not be surprised if they decide to charge Zuma on the eve of the 2009 elections. - Vusi M

Naturally, this doesn't mean he's innocent of the charges, rather it's another case of the prosecuting authority not doing its job properly. He should have been charged with Shaik and by now would have been serving his sentence alongside his friend. Instead he'll be riding the popularity waves like never before. We now we face the stark reality of having a "tainted" man as the county's new president next year. Where to from here? Heaven help us! - David

It is with relief to hear that Zuma has won the case. I shudder to think what would have happened had a different verdict been declared. It is not for me to say whether he is innocent or guilty, but do not know that threats from his supporters were not idle, passive nor lame. The country would have been plunged into deep turmoil. I think we should move on as a country and save our hard won democracy. We have gained so much as a country and as a "united" nation. I can hope only hope, though, that he will "grow" and carry himself in a manner befitting a man of his statue. It is irreversible that he is the next president of the country. - Imzwane

I am South African and am very proud of my country we over came apartheid. But I am very worried about our future as the ANCYL president threatens people and GOV if things do not go his way. I believe that if Zuma becomes President we will be in big trouble as his supporters are crude and have no respect for the law. I pray that we do not become another Zim. - Mudali

I just wanted to share my Views on this Zuma win, but I don't want to respond where everybody is always talking about moving to another country. Unfortunately some of us do not have that luxury. I believe this is the best decision taken. Not because I support Zuma or not, but I believe for the sake of peace this is the best decision taken. I heard a lot of people talking about killing for Zuma, but that was the minority, the majority were not saying but they were going to do it. Zuma will be re-instated as the deputy president and no one can do anything about that. If Mark Crossly, De Klerk, Pick Botha, and those who benefited from apartheid can walk free, why should anyone, Zuma in particular, go to prison? I think it is up to each and everyone of us to make the right choice when we vote. I believe ANC has lost it, but unfortunately there is no other credible black part that people can vote for. Politics will always be about colour, it does not matter who says what. - Bongani

Though we congratulate uMsholozi for his victory, I believe thea level of disrespect in the ruling party leaves a lot to be desired! How is he going to handle the likes of the Malemas, who just say whatever they want to say, without considering the implications it will have to the country? So, the Zuma issue is at rest, now it should be back to business, and deal with the challenges ahead! - James

I do not mean that the guy is innocent but looking under legal microscope, the treatment he got from the politically motivated law enforcers was undesirable. Those who do not want him a president will not stop persecuting him even if the court declared the case against him invalid. Please give Jacob Zuma a break! - ERZ
