Emalahleni - A security guard linked to a R14m robbery at an Absa depot in Mpumalanga appeared briefly in the Witbank Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Emmanuel Ndlovu, 30, of Emalahleni was arrested on Sunday, after the depot in Emalahleni was robbed at about 14:00 on Saturday.
He was not asked to plead to charges of robbery and theft and was remanded in custody until September 9 for further investigation.
Four accomplices from Soweto were arrested on Monday and will appear with him next week.
Three guards at the depot were forced at gunpoint to take the men to where the money was held.
The suspects fled by car, said spokesperson for the Mpumalanga organised crime unit, Captain Leonard Hlathi.
"We worked around the clock to make the arrests," said Hlathi. "Our team worked for over 36 hours without sleep and also managed to recover some of the stolen money when they arrested the suspects," he said.
He said the robbery was clearly an inside job and that more arrests were expected to be made.
