Mandela gets Rivonia records

Johannesburg - Nelson Mandela's 1960s diary, records of the Rivonia trial, and other valuables were handed over to the Nelson Mandela estate on Friday.
The records, which were acquired by the Oppenheimer family from Percy Yutar, a prosecutor in the 1963/64 trial, were handed over at Mandela's office in Houghton.
The diary was one kept by Mandela when he left the country secretly to undergo military training in 1962.
Also handed over was a recorded four-hour speech Mandela delivered from the dock of the palace of justice in April 1964, and his mid-1990s dialogue with Ahmed Kathrada and author Richard Stengel.
In the 1964 speech, Mandela said: "During my lifetime... I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities."
