Johannesburg - North Rand police recovered property stolen from Johannesburg International airport last month and arrested six people in two raids at Kempton Park on Tuesday, police reported on Wednesday.
Captain Velephi Mayisela said an organised crime team acting on information received raided a house in Lamoniet Street, Craydon, Kempton Park, about 16:00 and arrested the 36-year-old unemployed owner.
Mayisela said the man's arrest led police to Palma Flats in nearby Klopper Park where five more people, aged from 20 to 40, were arrested and R30 000 in cash was seized.
Among the effects confiscated were 16 laptop computers and six computer terminals, a big screen television and a hi-fi set.
Mayisela said a luxury Mercedes 4x4 and a Mercedes minibus were recovered as well as a BMW, a Ford Sapphire and a Nissan ZX sports sedan.
Mayisela said although some of the goods were identified as stolen from the airport none of the arrested were employed by SA Airways.
Investigations were continuing and the six would appear in Kempton Park magistrate's court soon charged with possession of stolen property, Mayisela said.
