Johannesburg - A dog owner gave a man R10 to catch a taxi to a clinic after her seven animals attacked him, mauling his genitals in Mqanduli, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.
Fuzile Gadla, 26, was on his way home at 14:00 on Tuesday when the dogs stormed through the open gate of their yard, said Superintendent Mzukisi Fatyela.
"... The woman tried to calm them, but in vain," Fatyela said.
They stopped only when her son called each dog by name and calmed them.
By then the animals had mauled Gadla's lower body, injuring his genitals.
"The woman then forwarded to him a R10 note as taxi fare to the clinic," Fatyela said.
The incident was reported to the police on Saturday. A case had been opened for investigation.
