Two held for attempted rape

Johannesburg - Two men were arrested and one of them was shot in the leg when police found them trying to rape a woman in a bush near Nancefield hostel in Soweto on Monday.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Mpho Kgasoane said the police received information around 05:00 about a woman being dragged into a bushy area by two men.
Police went to investigate and found the two men struggling with the woman. The men fled when they saw the police.
Police fired warning shots to stop them. One suspect was wounded in the left thigh and was taken to Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital where he is under police guard.
The other suspect was chased by the police and arrested later.
Both men were expected to appear in court soon.
