Pretoria - The Centurion vehicle testing station in Pretoria has been closed indefinitely following a cable theft, Tshwane metro police said on Monday.
"Our Centurion station is not functioning following the robbery," said spokesperson William Baloyi.
Baloyi said it was not clear when the robbery occurred.
"When staff opened up shop which uses the eNatis system which is linked to Telkom they noticed that there had been a robbery," he said.
People who had appointments at the station have been referred to other stations.
"People are advised to use other centres as we do not know how long the station will not be operational," said Baloyi.
He said that most people who had already made appointments for learner's and driver's licences had been transferred to the Watloo testing station.
"As this was an unexpected turn of events, many of the clients have been taken to Watloo which is the nearest station," said Baloyi.
