East London - A 23-year old man was killed after being stabbed during a quarrel after drinking at tavern in the Eastern Cape town of Dutywa, police said on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Capt Jackson Manatha said a group of men quarrelled as they were on their way home from Dutywa's Dukuduku Tavern on Friday night. During the quarrel the 23-year old was stabbed.
An ambulance was called, but the man died on the way to the Butterworth provincial hospital.
Manatha said an arrest was expected as the suspect was known. He said the cause of the argument was unknown and the 23-year old's name could not be released until next of kin had informed of the death.
