Johannesburg - A security guard was slightly injured when four gunmen rammed their vehicle into the guards' vehicle during a heist in Boksburg about noon on Monday, police said.
Superintendent Andy Pieke said the guards' vehicle was brought to a halt after the smash at the corner of Butler and Fairbridge streets at 12:55.
A white BMW stopped behind them, four armed men got out of the car, forced two guards to lie on the ground at gunpoint, and took the van keys, Pieke said.
He said the alleged robbers took the firearms of the two guards, opened the vehicle and took an undisclosed number of bags containing cash before driving off.
The suspected stolen car was found abandoned on Crossberry Street near the N17 freeway.
Pieke said the robbers drove away towards Wadeville in another vehicle.
