Johannesburg - A power failure left thousands of train commuters in Gauteng stranded on Friday morning, Metro rail said.
Spokesperson Brenda Motau said the service between Pretoria and Johannesburg, and between Leralla in Tembisa and Johannesburg was affected.
"Passengers were encouraged to seek alternative transport as the train were delayed," she said.
Service was restored at around 08:00.
