Johannesburg - A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly locking up a teenage girl for seven days in his house in Germiston while he raped and assaulted her, East Rand police reported on Friday.
Captain Thobile Xakeka said the 15-year-old girl was at a tavern when the man forcefully took her to his place. He locked her up in the house and raped and assaulted her repeatedly.
On Thursday around 14:00, the girl's friends stole the house keys from the man and freed her.
The teenager reported the matter to the police and the man was arrested.
Xakeka said the attacker would appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of kidnapping, rape and assault.
