Cape Town - Police were searching for an Angolan or Mozambican security guard suspected of murdering a woman, whose naked body was found in cabin on a fishing trawler on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Nomathemba Mgwebile said the body was found about 08:00 on board a fishing vessel belonging to Combined Fishing Enterprises, moored in Table Bay harbour.
One of the vessel's owners, Garth Lucas, discovered the woman - believed to be in her late twenties - with her hands tied behind her back and a plastic bag pulled over her head.
Mgwebile said: "The possibility that she might have been sexually assaulted will also be investigated."
Police were looking for Bernado Mahanye, 35, who was employed as a security guard at Combined Fishing Enterprises, in connection with the woman's killing.
Mgwebile said the guard apparently had been staying on the boat and had not been seen since the body was found.
