82-year-old on rape rap

Port Elizabeth - An 82-year-old Eastern Cape man was granted R500 bail on Wednesday after appearing in connection with the rape of a 17-year-old girl in Uitenhage, police said.
Superintendent Priscilla Naidu said the man was arrested and detained on Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly raped the girl on April 19.
The girl told the police that the man took her to his house and raped her on the kitchen table.
He appeared in Uitenhage magistrate's court on Wednesday.
It was not known yet when the man would appear in court again.
