Moustache makes Lizette's day

Pretoria - A woman's new identity document has all her details correct - except that the picture is of a man with a plush moustache.
Although Maria Elizabeth Margaretha "Lizette" Besaans, 35, initially saw the humour in the photo of the hairy man in her ID, she believes someone at home affairs should short out the mess.
All the details in the ID are hers, except for the photo.
Why and how the document found its way to her post box remains a riddle. She claims she never applied for a new ID.
"It's a mess. How stupid must you be not to realise that Maria Elizabeth Margaretha is a woman's name, and yet stick in the photo of a man. I couldn't believe it at first," said Besaans.
The identity of the moustachioed man is another mystery.
Besaans said: "I might have felt better if it had been a photo of my husband."
All attempts by Besaans to sort out the problem with
home affairs by phone on Monday amounted to nothing:. "I was sent to and fro."
Apollo Gopolang of the department was also at a loss for answers on Monday, but promised to have an explanation by Tuesday.
