Army can move in - Mbeki

Pretoria - President Thabo Mbeki has given the go-ahead for the "involvement"
of the military in the violent xenophobic clashes in Gauteng.
"(Mbeki) has approved a request from the SA Police Service for the
involvement of the SA National Defence Force (SANDF) in stopping
ongoing attacks on foreign nationals in Gauteng Province," his office
said in a statement on Wednesday.
It said more details on the matter would be given by the SANDF and
the police.
