Johannesburg - Mpumalanga police say a 57-year-old man has been hijacked and stripped of his clothes in Delmas.
Spokesperson Abie Khoabane said on Wednesday that the man had pulled over his silver Isuzu bakkie to answer a call on his cellphone.
Another vehicle stopped behind him with three occupants.
Two of the occupants approached him and asked for directions to Springs, he said.
"While he was trying to assist them, one of the men pulled out a firearm and pushed him over to the passenger seat of the bakkie," said Khoabane.
Inside the bakkie, the hijackers undressed him and covered his head with his jacket. He was also ordered to put his head between his legs.
"His hands were tied with shoe laces. The hijackers dropped him off in a mealie field at Brakfontein Farm.
"He was assisted by a passing motorist," said Khoabane.
Police are investigating a case of hijacking.
