Johannesburg - The possession of child pornography case against film director Tascoe De Reuck was provisionally postponed in the Randburg Regional Court on Thursday to January 20, 2004, pending a ruling by the Constitutional Court.
Earlier this week De Reuck appeared briefly in the Randburg Regional Court where bail of R5 000, granted on August 1, was extended.
A challenge of the Film and Publication Act was brought unsuccessfully in the Johannesburg High Court earlier this year.
Police arrested De Reuck, then a TV presenter and producer of documentaries, in July 31, 2000 after searching the room he was renting from author and movie reviewer Leon van Nierop.
De Reuck said he had the material in his possession in order to conduct research "in good faith".
The case came to the Constitutional Court after De Reuck challenged the constitutionality of Section 27(1), part of the Act dealing with the possession of child pornography.
