Potchefstroom - Undercover police arrested 11 people on Friday and confiscated a haul of drugs during a special operation in Potchefstroom, North West police said on Saturday.
Senior Superintendent Pieter du Plessis said a ten member team began infiltrating the Potchefstroom drug scene from September last year, and were able to link certain people with controlled transactions of illegal drugs involving some R19 000.
The operation was code-named 'Operation Cat Feet', du Plessis said.
Acting on this information a team of 50 officers, including the dog unit, made several arrests at the 'Groove' Club in the city late on Friday night and a quantity of Heroin, LSD, Cat, Ecstacy, Cocaine, Mandrax and Dagga was recovered.
Du Plessis said all 11 people arrested would appear in the Potchefstroom Magistrate's Court on Monday in connection with charges of dealing in illegal drugs.
