Pretoria - South Africa will not extradite ousted Haitian president Jean-Bertrand Aristide even if an international warrant of arrest exists.
Foreign affairs spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepe said on Saturday South Africa didn't have an extradition agreement with Haiti.
Gerard Latortue, Haiti's interim prime minister on Friday said he had ordered a warrant of arrest for Aristide.
AP reported Latortue had appointed a task-team to investigate allegations of corruption against Aristide.
It was not clear whether the warrant was to be issued for questioning about the allegations, but Latortue was adamant that it should happen as soon as possible.
Aristide has been living in South Africa since May.
