Cape Town - The doors of a chain store and clothing store in Kraaifontein were set alight in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Western Cape police said.
Spokesperson Bernadine Steyn said petrol was apparently used at 01:45 to set alight the doors of the two businesses, which are next to each other in Botfontein Road.
"The window of the clothing store was broken and the clothing in the store caught fire," she said.
The fire was extinguished at about 02:00, and the value of the damage done to the stores was not yet known.
The motive was unknown, and police were investigating a case of arson.
