Woman's throat slit, man held

Johannesburg - Limpopo police arrested a farmworker for allegedly slitting the throat of a shopkeeper in a farm stall near Mokopane on Wednesday.
The 50-year-old woman, tending a stall on the farm Rooipoort, was stabbed in the neck and had her throat slit, said Superintendent Mohale Ramatseba in a statement.
Her killer fled with cash. Police later found him hiding on the farm.
The alleged killer, a 30-year-old man from Phola Park in Mokopane, was an employee on the farm and had also worked in the shop at one stage. He would appear in the Mokopane Magistrate's Court on Friday.
The victim's name would be released once her relatives had been notified.
