Body-part 'salesman' in court

Johannesburg - A 48-year-old man arrested for allegedly selling a woman's body parts to a traditional doctor appeared in the Acornhoek Magistrate's Court on Thursday, Mpumalanga police said.
Philemon Batulekile Baloyi was arrested after a sangoma he allegedly tried to sell a woman's breast and manicured left hand to alerted police on June 20, Captain Leonard Hlathi said in a statement.
Baloyi allegedly told police he got the parts from Ben Mongadi, a funeral parlour worker in Lydenburg.
Mongadi, 35, was arrested and would appear in the Lydenburg Magistrate's Court on July 20.
"Baloyi made claims to the police that he normally sold body parts to five inyangas (traditional healers) around the Acornhoek area."
He faces charges of violating a corpse. He would appear in court again on Friday to apply for bail.
