Johannesburg - A 37-year-old man found dead next to a railway line in Nigel was a security guard, East Rand police said on Tuesday.
David Napo Selwane's naked body was found partially decomposed between Sharon Park and Dunnottar on June 5, Superintendent Andy Pieke said.
It was possible that Selwane was thrown from a moving train for not participating in a nationwide security guard strike, Pieke said.
According to Selwane's wife she last heard from her husband on April 16 when he called her from work. She told police that he worked as a guard for Chubb Security.
Police have offered a reward of R20 000 for information leading to the arrest of Selwane's killers.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Inspector Gerry van der Merwe on 011-737-9635 or 083-526-3174, said Pieke.
