Johannesburg - Three teenage boys were arrested on Wednesday for the murder of a five-year-old Port Alfred boy, Eastern Cape police said.
"After an intensive overnight investigation... three suspects aged 14, 15 and 16 were arrested at their homes in Station Hill today (Wednesday)," Captain Mali Govender said.
Although the boys had been linked to the murder of Rayno Ruiters, Govender said they had not yet been formally charged.
Raynor's body was found by three boys in a field about one kilometre from his home in Station Hill at 13:30 on Tuesday. His clothes were strewn around his naked body.
He had been missing since 07:00 on Monday.
Govender could not immediately indicate whether the arrested boys were the ones who found Ruiter's body on Tuesday.
"There has not been any link yet," she said.
