Drennan: Kekana says sorry

Pretoria - William Kekana has apologised to the families of his victims for the crimes he has committed. Kekana also apologised to the Temba circuit court, north of Pretoria for wasting their time by first denying that he committed the crimes.
He addressed the court through his lawyer in mitigation of sentence. Kekana said he started to commit crime after his parents' divorce. He said his motive was initially to get money, but later turned to more serious crime because he needed to make even more money.
Kekana blames Satan for what happened the night of the triple murder of Baby Kayla, her mother and grandmother - but still denies that he shot Baby Kayla.
He was convicted on Monday on all 14 charges against him - including murder and rape.
Sentencing is expected at the end of the mitigation process.
Charges related to the hijacking, abduction, murder and rape of Janine Drennan, the murder of her one-year-old daughter Kayla, the murder of grandmother Hester Rawstone and the rape and attempted murder of a 17-year-old girl.
The victims' family again took their positions in the gallery. On Monday they wept silently as Leeuw re-read Kekana's earlier testimony describing the murders and rapes.
"We are feeling alright today," said Cliff Rawstone, Kayla's father and Drennan's fiance.
