Court: No to gay marriages

Pretoria - The Pretoria High Court has dismissed an application by lesbian couple Marie Fourie and Cecilia Bonthuys for same sex marriages to be legalised, recognised and registered, SABC radio news reported on Friday.
Judge Pierre Roux ruled that the matter was of a constitutional nature and that he was not prepared to exercise his own discretion.
Roux said that in the law at present, marriage was a union
between a man and a woman, and nothing that he was aware of had
since changed.
The couple expressed their disappointment on the ruling and
indicated that they will appeal.
