Brits - Bail of R10 000 was granted in the Brits magistrate's court on Monday to a North West farmer on whose property police allegedly found an arms cache last week.
McColm Keely (44) appeared on charges related to the possession of firearms and ammunition without a licence.
He was ordered to be in court again on February 3.
Keely was arrested on a farm near Assen, north of Brits, on Friday.
Police said they had found five unlicensed firearms, 10 R1 magazines, 1 375 R1 rounds, 50 9mm rounds and 26 12-bore shotgun rounds on the property.
They said there was no evidence yet of a link between the find and the activities of the rightwing group, the Boeremag.
Nearly 30 members of the group are facing charges in connection with a series of bomb blasts last year and a plot to overthrow the government.
