One killed in foiled cash heist

Johannesburg - A would-be robber was shot dead and five others arrested on Friday when a cash-in-transit heist was foiled at Kempton Park, east of Johannesburg, police said.
Captain Jethro Mtshali said three of those arrested were seriously wounded and were taken to hospital
A police task team cornered a gang of robbers after a tip-off that Bredell Supermarket was going to be hit.
"When a security vehicle arrived at a shop in the centre, the suspects jumped out of their vehicle and held the guards at gunpoint," he said.
"A shootout between the suspects and the police ensued. No money was taken."
One gang member escaped, Mtshali said.
