Man held after rape, murder

Makopane - A man is expected to appear in the Mokopane magistrate's court for allegedly murdering his ten-month-old daughter and raping his sister-in-law.
Captain Malesela Ledwaba said the man, 34, was apparently arguing with his girlfriend at their home at the Sehlabeng village near Mokopane, Limpopo on Sunday.
When the girlfriend ran out of the house, the man pulled out his gun and fired shots in her direction, Ledwaba said.
One of the bullets struck the baby, killing her instantly.
The man then allegedly shot his sister-in-law in the leg and raped her. She was admitted to hospital for treatment.
Ledwaba said the man handed himself over to police on Monday and would appear in court on Wednesday.
