Graaff-Reinet - Eight people have died in a bus crash near this Eastern Cape town, including the driver.
Inspector Stefanie Smith said an Intercape bus was travelling from Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg when the driver apparently lost control and the vehicle rolled, landing on its roof just outside Graaff-Reinet.
Smith could not say how many of the other 25 people on the bus had been injured.
Smith said it was difficult to say what had caused this latest road disaster, but apparently it had been raining at the time of the accident.
This was just the latest in a series of fatal smashes on South African roads.
Early on Thursday, 21 people travelling by bus on the N1 in the Laingsburg area, lost their lives when their vehicled was involved in a collision with a lorry.
