Johannesburg - Two people were killed on Wednesday night in Diepsloot in what was believed to be another xenophobic attack, the SABC reported.
Metro police spokesperson Superintendent Wayne Minnaar however said he could not confirm the report.
"Diepsloot residents blocked the entrance into the township with objects and they were burning tyres. I do not know what triggered it."
Minnaar said police dispersed the crowds and the township was quiet.
This comes after four days of attacks motivated by xenophobia at another northern township, Alexandra.
Two people were killed and more than 60 were injured when foreigners were displaced from their homes.
