Wife murderer under observation

Free State - A Free State man who allegedly murdered his wife was referred to a state institution for psychiatric observation when he appeared in the Koppies Regional Court on Tuesday.
Christo Swanepoel was referred for psychological observation and the case was postponed to September 25.
He allegedly shot and killed his wife, Gerda, 38, during an argument on their smallholding near the northern Free State town on November 22.
Swanepoel also shot himself in the right eye. The bullet has since been removed.
