Boy, 10, beaten to death

Pretoria - A 10-year-old schoolboy was beaten to death by a man with a spade on Tuesday night at Soshanguve, Pretoria, police reported on Wednesday.
Inspector Percy Morokane said a 38-year-old man was arrested about 20:30 at Block B, Soshanguve and would appear in the local magistrate's court on Thursday in connection with the murder.
Morokane said the boy was at home with his elder sister and younger brother while their parents were at a prayer meeting when the 38-year-old man arrived at the house looking for his girlfriend.
It was not immediately clear if the sister was the man's girlfriend.
The boy was beaten with the spade, after which the man attempted to flee but was caught by community members.
He was handed to police unharmed, Morokane said.
