Nelspruit - Two men have appeared in Barberton magistrate's court in connection with the rape of a British tourist in Mpumalanga and the murder of a motorist who stopped to help her.
The men also allegedly assaulted the 29-year-old woman's South African friend.
They face charges of murder, robbery, rape and kidnapping and further charges could be added, said police superintendent Izak van Zyl.
Another two men wanted in connection with the incident were arrested early on Tuesday.
Van Zyl said the men who appeared in court were arrested on Sunday.
The men are to apply formally for bail on November 26, when the other two, who were hospitalised after being shot and wounded while allegedly resisting arrest, can join them.
Van Zyl said the men were expected to be discharged into police custody on Wednesday.
