51 bus accident victims named

Bethlehem - The names of all 51 identified victims of Thursday's bus accident at Saulspoort dam, near Bethlehem in the Frees State were announced on Saturday afternoon by the Free State MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport, Sekhopi Malebo.
In a statement paying tribute to the victims Malebo said:
"It is with a great sense of loss and sadness that we have finally positively identified all of the 51 victims of the bus accident in Bethlehem on 1 May 2003. The identification was done with the assistance of the SA Police Service and families of the victims."
Malebo who is also spokesperson for the task team organising the mass memorials to the victims said:
"This enables us to get to the second phase of the preparations which includes briefing the Alliance in the Northern Cape as well as meeting the families of the victims to officially inform them of Government's intention to assist them with the burials and related arrangements."
