East London - Three criminals, who threatened to chop off a baby's fingers if his mother did not unlock the safe, made off with cash and firearms after the farm attack.
Superintendent Eddie Watson said the armed men overpowered Irene Delport, 33, in her house on the farm Mnyaka at about 23:30 on Friday.
The back door had not been locked.
The men pistol whipped Delport and dragged her through the house by her hair. Two other women, who were also in the house at the time, were held at knifepoint.
Watson said the men threatened to chop off Delport's six-month-old baby's fingers if she didn't unlock the safe.
They took a shotgun, ammunition and R2 000 cash from the safe and other valuables from the house.
Delport drove to the police to report the case once the men had left.
As yet, nobody has been arrested.
