Cape Town - The holed bulk carrier Cape Africa is in False Bay and headed for an anchorage, spokesperson for Smit Salvage Clare Gomes said on Tuesday.
She said the vessel was being slowly towed by a harbour tug to a position three kilometres off Simon's Town, and should reach it mid-afternoon.
Once she was secured, work would begin on repairing the massive breach in her hull, using a coffer dam technique.
Salvors at the weekend transferred all the Cape Africa's fuel oil to a Russian tug as she was held 160 nautical miles west of Cape Town.
