Pretoria - Three men between the ages of 20 and 30 were arrested in Sebokeng on Sunday in connection with the hijacking of two female Pretoria child protection unit members on Friday.
The detectives who were accompanied by the one woman's five-year-old son were robbed of their state-owned Mazda Midge by three armed men travelling in a VW Golf Cabriolet in Lotus Gardens.
Police spokesperson Captain Piletji Sebola said Atteridgeville Area Tracing Unit Members arrested one of the suspects at Sebokeng Hospital, where he received treatment after apparently being attacked by community members on Saturday for alleged attempted murder.
The other two men, one of whom was the owner of the VW Cabriolet, were arrested at separate houses in the township.
All the police dockets that were in the state owned car at the time of the hijacking including the car's spare wheel, the detectives handbags and their police ID cards were recovered.
The Mazda is still missing.
The men are expected to appear in Pretoria regional court soon.
