'Potshot' hits cop in shoulder

Port Elizabeth - A police officer is in a satisfactory condition after being shot by a gunman in Motherwell.
The officer was in the township looking for a stolen car when the gunman took a potshot at him, hitting him in the shoulder.
Superintendent Glen Liebenberg said the officer shot about 21:30 on Tuesday.
Liebenberg said the man was in a satisfactory condition in Greenacres Hospital.
He said while it was not unusual for people to fire at police, especially in high-risk areas, but it "doesn't happen often that officers are hit".
